Haad Thai Restaurant Website
The Haad Thai Restaurant had served great food to Washingtonians for years, but never had a website. IDEAS2IMAGE created a Flash-based website that includes an easily updated gallery module, menu, and subtle animation that has been prominently featured in the restaurant’s promotions.
Project Synopsis
Haad Thai built its success by serving tasty food and providing great service to its patrons. As the establishment’s popularity grew, an increasing number of would-be visitors were calling to ask about an online menu. Haad Thai responded by engaging IDEAS2IMAGE to create a web presence that would echo the tropical motifs found artfully painted on the restaurant's walls. IDEAS2IMAGE created a visually enticing website that was closely aligned with the look of the restaurant; we created an easily updated gallery module; and helped the restaurant establish itself on the Internet.
IDEAS2IMAGE begins each of our projects begins with a meeting and a conversation to understand how we can best help our client; working with Haad Thai was no different. However instead of having a vision explained, we literally walked into it when we entered the restaurant. With walls painted with sunset scenes from the Andaman Sea, the smell of curry wafting through the air, and smiling staff interacting with customers—we quickly understood the feeling that Haad Thai wanted to convey on their website.
The owners felt that the sensory experience was a critical component of the success the restaurant had enjoyed, and communicating that to a web audience was the most important objective in creating a website. IDEAS2IMAGE worked with the owners to create a list of qualities that were central to the Haad Thai brand, which guided the visual development of the website.
IDEAS2IMAGE created the Haad Thai website using Adobe Flash™, so that we could deliver the fluid user experience that the owners of the restaurant were looking for. To allow the visual components of the site to be easily managed, we built a gallery module that enabled the restaurateurs to manage photos and text that is displayed within the site.
