CEP Corporate Identity
Commonwealth Energy Partners asked IDEAS2IMAGE to create a logo design for the energy investment firm, that would reflect a modern brand connected green energy financing.
Project Synopsis
The founders of Commonwealth Energy Partners (CEP) wanted to leverage their experience in eastern Europe to finance energy ventures that were transitioning from “dirty” forms of power production to clean alternatives. The firm asked IDEAS2IMAGE to create a logo with a contemporary feel to contrast the old establishment that the new energy sources were replacing.
Through an iterative design process, we developed a series of conceptual designs that used varying approaches to convey the themes that had been requested. Because the company was targeting a multinational audience, it was important that any symbolism used in the mark be broadly applicable and not subject to local interpretation that might differ from CEP’s brand. The founders selected a design that used stylized letters to communicate the brand qualities. The color green was added, to associate the firm with green energy sources.
After the logo design was finalized, IDEAS2IMAGE used it as the keystone element in CEP's corporate identity. We developeda number of pieces of corporate collateral, including business cards, letterheads, and envelopes.
Process: Learn–Solve–Deliver
In the context of brand identity, our process is applied by first learning about your organization’s marketing mix, product, and target audience. We explore the qualities that define your brand, and then conduct research to gauge the brand perception in the marketplace.
We solve the core brand problems that we identify, by devising approaches that will improve brand identity or bring clarity to an established brand. The approaches that we suggest can be tested in a controlled environment to determine the best course forward.
We deliver brand improvements by creating logo designs, style guides, or strategies that address the issues that emerged during our discovery process. We refine the shape, color, and presentation of logo designs; fine tune corporate identity; and implement strategic brand initiatives.
