CapitolGPA Logo Design
In the start-up phase of the organization, CapitolGPA approached IDEAS2IMAGE to create a logo for the online social media website that allowed user to grade the performance of governmental representatives. We worked with CapitolGPA to develop a logo to match the firm's mission.
Project Synopsis
Start-up firms can sometimes view branding and logo design as superfluous costs that can be delayed until a solid revenue stream is established. However, because a logo is used on virtually all forms of corporate collateral, the decision to delay can force the firm to take on the added costs of reproducing many pieces of collateral after a logo is created. The Founder of CapitolGPA avoided this predicament, by choosing to included logo development as part of the firm’s start-up activities.
CapitolGPA offers an on line service, which is built around a social media framework. Users create an account an collectively grade the performance of government representatives and legislation. The firm’s founder wanted to include imagery of the capitol and a symbol of evaluation in the logo. IDEAS2IMAGE created a number of conceptual composites to illustrate these ideas, before a design was selected. The chosen logo includes an abstracted depiction of the United States Capitol Dome and a pie chart, combined to form a circular logo. To increase visual interest in the shape, the lower edge of the circle is implied, using negative space.
Process: Learn–Solve–Deliver
In the context of brand identity, our process is applied by first learning about your organization’s marketing mix, product, and target audience. We explore the qualities that define your brand, and then conduct research to gauge the brand perception in the marketplace.
We solve the core brand problems that we identify, by devising approaches that will improve brand identity or bring clarity to an established brand. The approaches that we suggest can be tested in a controlled environment to determine the best course forward.
We deliver brand improvements by creating logo designs, style guides, or strategies that address the issues that emerged during our discovery process. We refine the shape, color, and presentation of logo designs; fine tune corporate identity; and implement strategic brand initiatives.
