Ballyhoo! Corporate Identity
The specialty embroidery shop, Ballyhoo!, needed to differentiate itself from the chain franchises that it competed against. IDEAS2IMAGE worked with Ballyhoo! to create a logo that looked like fun.
Project Synopsis
The owner of Ballyhoo! Has a passion for his work, the methods, details, and product. The embroidery company can create just about anything embroidered, but most of their clients are having the stitching crated for something fun—team sports, parties, or gifts. Ballyhoo! faced competition from chains of franchised operations that mostly outsourced the embroidery. The owner wanted to set Ballyhoo! apart by drawing attention to the way his stitching was used—fun.
Using our iterative design process, IDEAS2IMAGE designed a number of design concepts. We explored a mascot-based design, branded graphics, and pure text designs. When the final selection was made, the owner chose a stylized text-based design. The block letters avoid an overly structured appearance, by using a varying baseline and sizes. The upbeat theme was emphasized by using a palette of exciting colors.
IDEAS2IMAGE created built upon the firm’s logo, to deliver a complete corporate identity package. This included logos designed for print, web, and of course, embroidery. We also designed business cards, letterhead, and envelopes.
Process: Learn–Solve–Deliver
In the context of brand identity, our process is applied by first learning about your organization’s marketing mix, product, and target audience. We explore the qualities that define your brand, and then conduct research to gauge the brand perception in the marketplace.
We solve the core brand problems that we identify, by devising approaches that will improve brand identity or bring clarity to an established brand. The approaches that we suggest can be tested in a controlled environment to determine the best course forward.
We deliver brand improvements by creating logo designs, style guides, or strategies that address the issues that emerged during our discovery process. We refine the shape, color, and presentation of logo designs; fine tune corporate identity; and implement strategic brand initiatives.
